Fierce 5 - THE COUNTDOWN!

Jenna finally turned 5! its so amazing how fast these little ones grow. everytime she gets a year older I tell myself, "I just had her yesterday". I still fondly remember every hug and kiss and "I love yous" we have shared since before she was born and I'm amazed by how much she knows and speaks now.

Here's a break down of my beauty's birthday themes from year 1 to 5.

FIERCE 5

Almost 3 years living in Vietnam and now i had an idea of where to get party supplies YAY!

The theme this time was based around the famous Kid's show "MY LITTLE PONY".  I am not a crafty person but I did get crafty with this party planning and Jenna was involved in every step of it. she made the invitations with me adding confetti and stickers in every invite i wrote out,

with ideas we got from Pinterest, we whipped up our own party menu and it was great having all her friends over.

I bought a PINATA, with no plan on how to hang it up  but the kids had a great time taking turns  jumping on it and filling their goodie bags with all kinds of sweet treats. We had unicorn cookies, a rainbow fruit salad with marshmallow clouds, fresh fruit juice i labelled "unicorn pee".

It was  a fun, colorful party for my little pinkie pie.

If you are planning to throw a "MY LITTLE PONY" Theme party, don't forget to check out the links to the blogs I visited for the templates and ideas i used at the bottom of this post.

FABULOUS 4

By the time she had turned 4, she had a lot of friends she had made at school. so we paid for a birthday party package at an indoor play area in hanoi and they did everything. we had a magician, and a mascot for a cartoon i honestly have no idea about hahah but the theme was rapunzel. we got her a rapunzel costume and  the setting you see is a common vietnamese setting for kids birthdays. after the cake was cut the kids ran about playing with everything as their entry fee was all covered under the package fun

TALKATIVE 3

We had just moved to Vietnam when Jenna turned 3.  She did not have any friends as she wasn't in school or any play groups yet.  Her little brother was only 6 months. We kept it intimate and baked our own cake. it was a Kit Kat chocolate cake and Jenna enjoyed helping out make her own cake. We also got a free cake from the Lotte residence which is were we lived as it was tradition for them to give free cake to every resident on their birthday. she skyped with her grandparents all the way from the Netherlands and it was the best 3 year old party we had.

TERRIBLE 2

Jenna was talking alooooot by this time and we had moved to a beautiful  house in a beautiful residential area of Kampala and  just before her birthday she threw a huge tantrum because she did not want to go to bed.  in all her screaming and rolling she fell in her attempt to run away from me which left her with a cut chin. 5 stitches later and a band aid, she was ready to party.

I was 8 months pregnant with our son and it was nice to keep busy. We invited her friends from play group and her cousins. This time was different because she knew these kids. I had a Hello Kitty top I'd bought in a store printed with her name and added her birth month hashtag. We also printed her age number 2 at the back.

We had a "Frozen" theme cake made. and again rented a bouncy castle and play things for the kids. we danced and watched the "Frozen" movie with some buttered popcorn. fun! fun!

WHIMSICAL 1

For her first birthday, we had a joint  party for her and her dad whose birthdays  are literary 2 weeks apart. we did this because he was leaving to start a new job in West Africa and we did not want him missing her first birthday. We rented a bouncy castle and lots of play toys for the kids. we had an awesome time despite the fact that she would not remember this day but for us, it was a great start into her first year.
